Shortly after receiving Jesus Christ in 1998 I felt the desire to plant a church in my hometown of San Diego, CA. However, at that time in my christian development, I had no idea the commitment level and knowledge required to undertake such an ambitious vision.
In 2005 my family and I were called to Bowling Green, KY where I pastored a small congregation until 2011. Though I had no intention of leaving Bowling Green, the Lord had different plans.
My return to San Diego was the result of gut-wrenching prayer and a serendipitous divine appointment with a close friend. It was through this meeting that the Lord spoke to me that He had another mission for my life.
My family and I, with heavy hearts, loaded up our belongings and made the trip back to San Diego.
Even before our arrival in San Diego I began to ask the Lord to reveal my next assignment. He answered but I didn’t listen, because it wasn’t what I wanted to hear.
His message to me was clear (though I never heard his voice audibly); to take the Good News of Jesus Christ directly to the people of San Diego through urban street evangelism. This was not what I wanted hear.
However, on July 5, 2013 I could no longer ignore the call. I literally felt the unction of the Holy Spirit welling up inside my bones.
So I jumped in my car, parked on the street in City Heights, stepped out armed with Prayer, and the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God, and the rest as they say – is history.

I have also had the privilege of witnessing many of them repent of their sin and trust Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Additionally, this grassroots method of communicating the gospel has proven effective in breaking through people’s hard exteriors and also shattering negative preconceived ideas of the christian community without compromising the clear and inspired message of scripture.
I am humbled, privileged and wildly enthusiastic to continue scattering seeds of Grace on the streets of San Diego’s inner-city.
